Your Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony I offer is nondenominational, but spiritual in nature. By this, I mean that while it imposes no creedal tests, it does touch people's hearts. You may use this ceremony as is, or as a basis upon which to build your own. It adapts well to the inclusion of selected readings and/or musical selections by one or more of your guests, and can accommodate special desires such as honoring the mothers, remembrance of a loved one, or lighting the unity candle.
The ceremony usually begins when the mothers are seated. If appropriate, I ask the guests to please stand as the bride is escorted in the processional. After a few words of welcome, we proceed with the vows, the exchange of rings, and finish with a blessing or prayer, the pronouncement as husband and wife, a kiss and a few concluding words.
Occasionally a couple chooses to compose their own ceremony, writing it themselves or combining selections they cherish from other sources. This can be a rich and insightful experience and serve to clarify the commitments you are making to each other. If you are creating your own ceremony, I would want to confer with you as to it's final form several weeks ahead of your wedding to be sure that, I too am comfortable with its content.
Ceremonies
can be performed in a variety of locations;
Homes, Chapels, Community Centers, Parks, Beaches, Historical Sites, Renaissance
Faires, just to name a few.

Consultation: During the consultation, you and I will be asking questions of each other so that I can get to know you. You then can decide if my style and services are what you want and need. I will offer my ideas and thoughts with you and you will offer yours. The key here is to make your ceremony as personal as possible. At this time, we will discuss moving forward with our partnership. Should you decide to retain my services for your ceremony, a 50% deposit is due at that time. Wedding dates are only reserved by deposit. Deposits are nonrefundable and can be paid by PayPal, cash, or by cleared check. Once I have your deposit, I will reserve your date and time and send you a confirmation with an invoice/receipt. Thirty days before your wedding, the remainder of the payment will be due in cash or check.
Services and Fees: Please call or email for current fees.
Officiating
With Selected Ceremony Text:
A ceremony is created from selections of pre-written vows I provide. Minimal
customization, revision, and editorial work is provided. A pair of white doves
released at a moment you choose, and small verse is read explaining to the guests
the meaning of your dove release. Rehearse the ceremony with the wedding party
the day before the wedding, if possible.
Any customizations that take longer than 3 hours will be billed at $25.00/hour.
If applicable, I will submit a draft of the ceremony outline to you (Email or Letter). In it will be the structure of the ceremony. This is mostly the timeline and mechanics. Some couples prefer to write their own vows and that's perfectly fine with me (I have over 100 to choose from). After we agree on the ceremony outline and vows, the full ceremony is submitted for your review. To ensure there's enough time before the ceremony to make corrections, this MUST be done at least 1 week before the wedding.
Remember: You, the couple, buy the license ahead of time, generally at the County Clerks Office in the county you are getting married in. The license is generally good for 90 days, but I would suggest getting it a month or so beforehand. At the time of the wedding, we all sign it and I can mail it in for you if you choose. The license must be brought to the ceremony site for us to sign.
